Preventing sick employees during cold, flu season

Keep your team healthy this winter season to avoid any sick employees, writes Rieva Lesonsky. Encourage healthy habits such as hand-washing and keep your facility cleaned regularly. According to a study by the University of Pittsburgh, staying home just one day when sick reduces the chance of co-workers catching the flu by 25%, and staying home two days can decrease the risk by 40%. Employees should not feel penalized for staying home, however.
