Review notes interventions effective for reducing pediatric readmission, ED use

In a review published in the Journal of Hospital Medicine, researchers found that nurse-led one-on-one inpatient education and support after discharge led to reduced readmission among patients with childhood asthma. Such interventions, along with family involvement during hospitalization, also were effective in lowering emergency department use after hospitalization.
