Christmas is brewing in Belgium

Belgium's long-standing tradition of serving Christmas beer is punctuated by the annual Christmas Beer Festival in Essen, where more than 100 Belgian Christmas beers are showcased. This writer highlights some of the best, including Affligem Noel, an abbey beer made at the DeSmed Brewery; Corsendonk, an 8.5% deep burgundy-colored ale; and Stille Nacht (Silent Night), which has an apple-liked aroma and slightly sweet finish.
