Paula Barlow has taken her nursing expertise into the legal field, becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteer who helps ensure that abused and neglected children do not get lost in the system or end up in inappropriate foster homes. She says her work as a CASA has led her to get a special certification in suicide prevention as well. A school nurse and cancer survivor, Barlow has been named School Nurse of the Year for Camden County, Ga., for the second consecutive year.
