Los Angeles garment, carwash businesses are fined

California regulators are cracking down on garment and carwash businesses in Los Angeles. Labor investigators have fined 21 garment businesses $183,600 for violations that included failing to pay minimum wage and overtime, as well as failing to maintain payments for workers' compensation insurance coverage. OSHA has fined owners of two carwashes $25,000 for violations.
