Charlotte airport benefits as US Airways expands presence

Expansion by US Airways at its Charlotte, N.C., hub has helped the airport become the 11th busiest in the nation. In Pittsburgh, the number of daily departures has dropped to 46 flights to 11 destinations from 550 daily flights to 110 destinations prior to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Charlotte currently has 552 daily departures to 127 destinations.
