Chevron settles whistle-blower's natural gas lawsuit for $45.5M

The U.S. Interior Department said Chevron will pay $45.5 million to settle a whistle-blower claim that the company underpaid natural gas royalties. Most of the settlement will go to Native Americans, state governments and the federal government, while heirs of the whistle-blower who filed the lawsuit will receive more than $12.3 million.
