Philly hospitals reduce diversions through better triage

Two Philadelphia hospitals are reducing the high rate of ambulance diversions, even though the number of emergency patients they see is increasing. The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital are among a half dozen facilities using grants to improve systems and strategies to move patients faster through the emergency room.
