The National Rifle Association's attempt to blame the mass shooting in Newtown, Conn., on violence in media is "disingenuous" at best and ignorant of the facts, David Zurawik writes. Zurawik, who is a longtime teacher of a university-level course on children and television, writes that "you cannot show any direct cause and effect between violence on the screen and violence in real life. You can't. Let's, at least, accept that fact before we start trashing media companies and calling for censorship."
