The rise of Facebook's Poke should give marketers pause

Just days after Google Maps rose to the top of Apple's charts, a free Facebook application called Poke has toppled it at No. 1 within 24 hours of release. The app features the ability to send a photo, video or comment that disappears after 1, 3, 5 or 10 seconds. The meteoric rise of an app that basically replicates Snapchat shows the enormous power of Facebook marketing, Emil Protalinski writes.
