Green infrastructure forms part of Ohio city's sewer plans

City officials in Akron, Ohio, want to prevent stormwater from entering its combined sewer system through the use of green infrastructure. Green infrastructure can entail the use of soils and plants as well as man-made structures such as cisterns and permeable pavement. Other cities within Ohio such as Cleveland and Cincinnati have already embraced green infrastructure.
