At a time of persistent unemployment and stagnant wages, it can be useful to step back and see the many positive aspects of the U.S. workplace compared to the rest of the world, columnist Marty Nemko writes. Workers' compensation, Social Security, Medicare, sick and vacation days, protections for those with disabilities, lawful processes for grievances, and for most Americans, employer-based health insurance, are all valuable benefits we often take for granted, he writes.
