When Eric Hudson decided in 1996 that too much plastic was ending up in landfills, he founded Recycline, a company devoted to creating cheap, stylish products from recycled yogurt cups, margarine tubs and the like. Even in a down economy, sales this year are up about 25%, and retailers such as Target and Whole Foods are jumping on board. For cash-strapped consumers, Recycline offers a cost-effective way to go green. "It's not buying a solar panel, it's not buying a Prius," Hudson said. "It's a great gateway product for people to say, 'I'm making a difference.' "
