Google Apps keeps the pressure on Microsoft Office

Google has attracted Hoffmann-La Roche, the U.S. Interior Department and other enterprises to use its Google Apps software that competes with Microsoft Office packages. Google charges $50 per user per year for its online business applications. "Its 'good enough' product has become pretty good. It looks like 2013 is going to be the year for content and collaboration in the cloud," says IDC analyst Melissa Webster. Google's Amit Singh says 2012 "was the year where we broke the barrier and got large-scale customer adoption."
