More health overhaul changes start on Jan. 1

Individuals earning more than $200,000 in wages and married couples earning more than $250,000 will pay an additional payroll tax of 0.9% for Medicare starting Jan. 1, as more provisions of the Affordable Care Act kick in. Other changes that take effect with the new year include a decrease in the Medicare Part D drug coverage gap, a 2.3% medical device tax and a $2,500 limit on flexible spending accounts.
