Pa. students learning algebra earlier

Educators in the Bethlehem Area School District in Pennsylvania are introducing advanced math earlier to better prepare students for new standards adopted under the Common Core State Standards. Some say they are concerned that beginning algebra too early could have an adverse effect on student learning. Still, district officials are moving forward with plans to have students take algebra in the seventh and eighth grades.
