UAE focuses on teacher training, recruitment

In the United Arab Emirates, officials are taking steps to bolster the teaching profession, in part, by reforming the salary structure and focusing on teacher preparation. Besides promoting experienced teachers and beefing up recruitment efforts, the country also sent 150 current teachers back to school recently to take additional training in early-childhood education and English-language skills.
