New England states among the best in pediatric dental care

Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island provide dental sealant programs at more than 75% of high-risk schools; at least half of third-graders in New Hampshire and Vermont got sealants; and 88% of children in Vermont have received dental care in the past 12 months, according to a report by the New Hampshire Dental Society. However, both New Hampshire and Vermont had low drinking-water fluoridation rates, the report said.
