Peanut council approves developing biotech versions

The American Peanut Council gave its approval for developing biotech peanuts intended to be easier to grow, more nutritious and less likely to trigger allergic reactions. The peanut industry has been cautious about accepting biotech versions, but the council urged scientists to go ahead with the work, with "due diligence."
