Outdoor advertising -- also known as out-of-home advertising -- is growing faster than every other ad medium except the Internet. EMarketer forecasts that U.S. outdoor advertising spending will reach $10.2 billion by 2011, from $7.4 billion in 2007. EMarketer also predicts that, with the presidential election and Olympic Games of 2008, outdoor advertising will grow by 9.4% over 2007. This growth will continue as digital, video and wireless technologies redefine the medium.
