Chunk of Bay Bridge to be removed from remote beach

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Caltrans are preparing to remove a car-sized piece of the San Francisco Bay Bridge that broke off and floated down to Half Moon Bay when the bridge was struck by a cargo ship Nov. 7. The piece of the bridge was discovered on a stretch of Redondo Beach by officers who were searching for two missing fishermen.
