Musical background inspires Arizona state education leader

When Tom Horne, Arizona's superintendent of public instruction, advocates for arts education, he's speaking from experience. "Music has an intrinsic value and an instrumental value in education," said Horne, who is an accomplished pianist and fan of classical music. "We have to see to it that kids are exposed to those great inheritances of the arts so they can carry them on to the next generation."
