Oilseeds, vegetable oils rise as demand increases

Prices of oilseeds and vegetable oils are rising, fueled by inventory concerns and growing demand in India and China. Palm oil prices in Malaysia hit a record recently, and Goldman Sachs predicts that in 2008 soybeans may lead gains among commodities, with the exception of energy. "The outlook for the grain, oilseed and vegetable oil markets remains very positive," said Michael Coleman, managing director of Aisling Analytics Pte.
