Peruvian children glimpse brighter futures on OLPC laptops

In the six months since their distribution, 50 One Laptop Per Child machines have already begun to transform education in one Andean farming village, educators say. "If we make education pertinent, something the student enjoys, then it won't matter if the classroom's walls are straw or the students are sitting on fruit boxes," said Oscar Becerra, Peru's head of educational technology.
