EIA: Refinery shutdowns could increase gas prices, hurt supplies

More than 45% of Northeast refining capacity has or will be closed as Sunoco and ConocoPhillips look to divest three refineries. Such shutdowns could cause supply volatility for several types of fuel as well as increases in the price of retail gasoline, according to the Energy Information Administration.
