Runway of Yuma, Ariz., base incorporates high-temperature concrete

The Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, in Arizona, is preparing for the arrival of the Joint Strike Fighter, and it reached a construction milestone when concrete was poured for the first portion of a landing pad. "This is a special, high-temperature concrete designed to handle the heat from the JSF," said Marie Torres, president of MRM Construction Services, which is handling the project.
