Some states seeking NCLB relief propose testing beyond reading, math

Seven out of 11 states seeking waivers from some requirements of No Child Left Behind are including subjects beyond reading and math as part of their proposed accountability systems. Georgia, Kentucky and Oklahoma would test students in science, social studies and writing, subjects that some say have taken a back seat to math and reading under NCLB.
