2 companies will build LNG facility for train engines

Encana and Ferus LNG plan to build a plant in Alberta, Canada, to supply liquefied natural gas to locomotives as an alternate fuel. The plan follows a research project by Canadian National into natural gas as a viable fuel source. "LNG is quickly becoming the fuel of choice for [high horsepower] engines in both highway and off-road applications in North America," said Eric Marsh, Encana executive vice president.
