New high-speed rail shaves 14 hours off route in China

China has launched service on a high-speed rail line that is the world's longest at nearly 1,428 miles. The train will cut travel time between Beijing and Guangzhou from 22 hours to eight hours. Trains will run at about 186 miles an hour.
