U.S. gas producers rush to secure LNG export permits

ExxonMobil, Sempra Energy and other natural gas suppliers are seeking export permits after a U.S. government report determined that exports to Asian countries will help spur economic growth, observers say. Consultants estimate that companies could secure clearance to deliver approximately 6 billion cubic feet a day of liquefied natural gas by 2025, which would be enough to provide for about 50% of the U.S.'s residential market.
