Report: Health IT, team-based care may keep medical costs down in 2014

A report by The Commonwealth Fund indicated that the shift from fee-for-service to risk-sharing or team-based care as well as reduced administrative costs, better information technology, and patient awareness of lower-cost, better-quality care may further contribute to the current decline in U.S. health spending in 2014. Researchers also projected that the coming year would see more evidence-based, cost-effective preventive care for patients. The report appears in the New England Journal of Medicine.
