Boston hoteliers, union might reach hiring agreement

The head of Boston's hotel and restaurant workers union said she's optimistic two new luxury hotel operators will agree to hire hundreds of union workers after talks between the two sides resumed in early December. Janice Loux has condemned the InterContinental Boston hotel and the Mandarin Oriental, both of which followed a pattern of new developers not promising to hire union-only employees.
