Utah bill would require teaching of evolution alternatives

Republican state Sen. Chris Buttars last week released a draft bill that would require teachers in Utah to inform students of what he believes is a misperception that scientists agree on a theory regarding the origin of life. The bill, which does not explicitly mention creationism, intelligent design or other theories, comes on the heels of a landmark ruling against the teach of intelligent design in Pennsylvania.
