Honeywell software aids pilots with poor-visibility landings

Honeywell Aerospace is developing avionics that allow pilots to see in poor visibility. The Enhanced Visual System/Synthetic Vision System uses infrared and 3-D images to simulate vision. "It's important for the pilot to feel just like he's looking out the window and not just looking at dials and gauges," said Ron Weight, Honeywell's chief pilot of corporate aviation.
