LG plans Android 4.0 upgrades; no "Ice Cream" for Samsung devices

The latest Android software will arrive at six LG Electronics smartphone models by the end of June and an additional five handsets the next quarter, the South Korean vendor said in a Facebook posting. LG will install Android 4.0, also known as "Ice Cream Sandwich," in eight models from its Optimus line by fall. Samsung, meanwhile, indicated on a blog posting that it would not upgrade its Galaxy S smartphone and Galaxy Tab tablet to Android 4.0.
