Be sure to vacation on Oahu sometime in the next 75,000 years

The Hawaiian island of Oahu may begin to fall apart in the future, according to a paper to be published in the Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta journal. Underground springs are slowly dissolving the island from the inside, data show. Researchers at Brigham Young University say the mountainous island could become a low-lying seamount after the next 75,000 to 1.75 million years.
