Canadian schools focus on security following US incident

Following the tragic school shootings in Newtown, Conn., officials in Canada are seeking to prevent a similar situation from occurring. In Ontario, additional funds are being directed toward door security and surveillance cameras for schools. While noting the importance of security, "a siege mentality needs to be avoided", said Stuart Auty, president of the Canadian Safe Schools Network.
