DIRECTV to raise package prices 4.5% in February

DIRECTV says it is passing on its higher costs for programming to customers, raising package prices an average of 4.5% in February to help cover an 8% increase in programming costs. "[A]lmost all programmers who provide channels to the DIRECTV platform are increasing their rates at a level we've never seen before," the company said in a Web post.
