Industry picks Ariz. for emergency equipment center

The U.S. nuclear energy industry has chosen the Phoenix area as the location for one of two emergency response centers that will house portable generators, water pumps and other emergency tools for the country's reactors. The project is part of the industry's efforts to strengthen preparedness in the aftermath of the Fukushima Daiichi incident in Japan. About $40 million will be spent for the centers.
