Jackson to step down as head of EPA

Lisa Jackson will leave her post as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency early next year, according to reports. In an e-mail message to EPA staff, she said that as she leaves the agency, "the ship is sailing in the right direction." A successor has not been named, and Jackson has not commented on what she plans to do next.
