Maine city council approves two additional areas as safe zones

The Bangor, Maine, City Council voted to approve two new safe zones in Birch Circle and Griffin Park, adding to around 20 existing safe zones. The vote was in response to a request by the Bangor Housing Authority. The safe zones are areas frequented by children and carry stricter penalties for people caught dealing drugs.
