PhRMA commends Part D's competition-based approach

The Medicare Part D program's competition-based approach has come in under budget, improved the lives of seniors and reduced nondrug spending on health care for beneficiaries who gained access to prescription coverage, PhRMA Senior Vice President Matthew Bennett writes in response to a Dec. 21 editorial in the Los Angeles Times. Part D has helped hold down Medicare costs and beneficiary premiums, Bennett writes.
