Price decline for palm oil is good news for India's soap manufacturers

Margins for soap manufacturers in India should improve because the price of the feedstock palm oil has been in decline, according to this analysis. "Will producers keep prices constant, soaking up all the cost benefits, and in turn spend more on advertising to push sales, or will they go in for promotions such as volume discounts, or even cut prices to pass on the benefit to consumers?" writes Ravi Ananthanarayanan.
