Review finds improved infantile hemangioma management

Research concerning infantile hemangioma has led to a better understanding of its pathogenesis and treatment, according to a review in the journal Pediatrics. As clinicians' understanding of long-term sequelae has improved, new therapies such as oral propranolol have expanded therapeutic options, but risks and benefits must always be evaluated in choosing a treatment, the researchers write.
