U.K. county council rejects residents' request for more bus routes

The Derbyshire County Council in the U.K. decided not to add bus routes through Codnor Park, which contains hundreds of homes and has more planned, despite a 500-signature petition from the Codnor Park Action Group. "Naturally we are very disappointed. The planners allowed a large development and expansion to take place in Codnor Park, without putting in the necessary infrastructure. Our community lacks many essential local services, especially a bus service," a member of the group said. Currently, residents must travel a half mile to pick up public bus routes.
