Carpet company offsets vacuum-cleaner emissions

When carpet manufacturer Interface decided to go carbon-neutral, it didn't draw the line at emissions related to carpet production. It also decided to factor in the environmental cost of cleaning and vacuuming carpets. The company buys carbon offsets to cover the lifetime impact of its customers' cleaning, which accounts for the release of three times as much carbon as the manufacturing process.
