Japan's Toshiba is in talks to buy Spanish utility Iberdrola's 50% stake in U.K. nuclear energy consortium NuGeneration and a portion of the 50% stake that France's GDF Suez owns. "We want a majority to move forward," said Toshiba President Hisao Tanaka. "So we would want to take some of GDF's share but have them remain as an operator." Toshiba will be able to have subsidiary Westinghouse provide three of its AP1000 reactors if the deals are completed.
