The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in collaboration with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction has launched the state's first virtual-student teaching placement. Those who participated in the pilot program that took place in the fall spent nine weeks of their practicum teaching to a virtual classroom. Officials say the venture is particularly helpful because a number of new teachers will need experience teaching virtually.
