Work advances on Los Angeles light rail project

Work is progressing on the $898 million Gold Line light rail extension project in Los Angeles, and two 1.7 mile-long, 21-foot-diameter twin tunnels were completed Dec. 9. The tunnels were built with the first-ever double-gasketed, convex-convex joint system to keep them functional in a seismic event.
