Credit crunch parallels, differs from Y2K cash hoarding

Banks are hoarding cash as the credit crunch continues, reminding some investors of the Y2K crisis, which slowed markets in 1999. But the credit crunch is unlikely to vanish as suddenly as the Y2K fears did on Jan. 1, 2000. Four indicators in the coming weeks could determine the extent and duration of the credit crunch.
